ARTIST PROFILE

I began my career with a Fine Arts Degree in Painting and Drawing. After earning a Masters Degree in Illustration from Syracuse University, I realized that it is the book process, and the creation of word-to-image that I truly loved. I have enjoyed all aspects of illustrating picture books, creating the end sheets, the cover, and being absorbed in the page-to-page thinking.
In my current work for children's picture books, I have been blessed with a variety of wonderful books and worked with many different authors. With a nonfiction text, "I'm Nocturnal, How About You?" (written by Jennifer Sy Heger) contains illustrations of animals drawn in white pencil and pastel on black paper. I equally enjoy fiction as seen in the imaginative text for "Emma and the Mashed Potato Monster", written by Sarah Armenteros, and published in 2009. The newest book released in March 2010, is "I Love You with My Heart" written by Donna Giffune. I feel this book will touch the hearts of many generations. It is a true celebration of the love a child brings to a family.
Some of the other books that I have illustrated and are listed on this site are: 1."When I Met You; A Story of Russian Adoption", published by DRT Press in 2005 This picture book, written by Adrienne Ehlert Bashista, serves as a dialogue for adoptive parents. 2."When Flamingos Fly", written by Maureen Piano, is a journey to the Wonders of the World with an amazing flock of flamingos.
Please check out some of these illustrations in my portfolio and link to the web addresses in the News & Links to learn more about each book.
